Astraglen McCoy "Coy"
Coy is a wing-man. He is accountable and loyal. Since Coy was a puppy, his natural position is right at your side and not an inch out front. We brought Coy in for training at 6 months old and he was immediately the easiest dog that had come into our home to that point. Coy has a cheerful personality and will meet no stranger. His personality and gentle demeanor are desirable as a family companion as he is favored by the small children in his life. Like many of the Astraglen and Kelmarsky dogs I’ve worked with of similar backgrounds, Coy is very easy to train and possesses outstanding natural abilities. He is also easily coached with simple praise for a job well done or a single “No” correction when needed. He hardly makes the same mistake twice. We often only needed a single session to establish a skill when training. Coy’s prey drive is best described as enthusiastic – He wants nothing more than to pick the bird and bring it back with a smile on his face.
Coy belongs to my long time friend, Adam Vinyard of East Alabama. He was imported as a pup in 2023 from Northern Ireland and is out of FTW Astraglen Mia and sired by 2020 Irish Retriever of Year – FTCH Kelmarsky Crow. Coy’s half siblings (via Crow) are FTCH Kelmarsky Ash – 2022 Irish Championship Winner and FTCH Kelmarsky Arkle of Astraglen – 2023 Irish Championship 2nd place.
